Born March 8, 1925 in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Ishidaka Kinpū (Ishidaka Shizuka) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachiunder Fukada Seihō, Miura Yōmei, and Yoshida Seifū. He began teaching in 1943. He belonged to the Seifū-kai and was head of the Kinpū-kai.
